Within a square, ‘ṣāḥib / al-ʿadl al-muqīm / al-sulṭān / Murād ibn / al-sulṭān Salīm’ (‘The possessor of permanent justice, Sultan Murad son of Sultan Salim’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘ʿām ˗ khams ˗ wa tisʿīn ˗ wa tisʿa miʾa’ (‘Year 995’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a square, ‘mālik al-barrayn / wa al-baḥrayn wa al-Shām / wa al-ʿIrāqayn khallada / Allāh mulkahū’ (‘The owner of the two lands and the two seas, and the Levant and the two Iraqs. May Allah perpetuate his kingdom’ in Arabic); repetition of date in the margin. Album 1331. Rare. Pierced twice and with minor areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
